Cremation
What is the difference between individual and communal pet cremation?
With individual cremation, your pet is cremated alone and their ashes are returned to you in a standard urn with a fur clipping and memorial paw print. With communal cremation, your pet is cremated alongside other beloved pets and ashes are not returned. Individual starts at $300 and communal at $150.
Will I get my pet's ashes back?
Yes, with individual cremation. Ashes are returned in a standard urn along with a fur clipping and a memorial paw print. With communal cremation, ashes are not returned to the family.
How much does pet cremation cost in Phoenix?
At Legacy Paws Aftercare, communal cremation is $150 if you bring your pet to us or $175 with in-home pickup. Individual cremation is $300 with drop-off or $345 with pickup. Packages that include in-home euthanasia are $475 (communal) and $575 (individual). Every price is listed on our pricing page.
Do you offer pickup, or do I have to bring my pet to you?
Both. We offer in-home pickup throughout the greater Phoenix metro, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You are also welcome to bring your pet to our north Phoenix facility at 748 West Hatcher Rd., which is our lowest-cost option. Appointments are recommended for drop-off.
Do you cremate cats, small animals, and exotic pets?
Yes. We care for dogs and cats of every size, as well as rabbits, birds, reptiles, and other small companions. Call or text us with any questions about your pet.
What keepsakes are available?
With any cremation package you can add personalized urn engraving, a clay paw print for $35, or an urn necklace that holds a small portion of ashes for $20. Individual cremation already includes a fur clipping and a memorial paw print.
In-Home Euthanasia
Who performs the in-home euthanasia?
Every in-home euthanasia appointment is performed by Dr. Rodger Cahill, a licensed veterinarian with more than 40 years in practice. Legacy Paws Aftercare is proudly partnered with Dr. Cahill; he is an independent veterinarian, and we coordinate the visit.
How does in-home euthanasia work?
The veterinarian comes to your home at the scheduled time, explains each step, and first gives your pet a sedative so they are relaxed and comfortable. Once your pet is fully at ease, the final medication is given. It is quick and painless, and you can hold your pet the entire time. If you have chosen a cremation package, our team then gently takes your pet into our care.
How much does in-home pet euthanasia cost?
In-home euthanasia is $350. Packages that include cremation are $475 with communal cremation or $575 with individual cremation, standard urn, fur clipping, and memorial paw print.
Is in-home euthanasia available 24/7?
In-home euthanasia is scheduled by appointment so the veterinarian can give your family unhurried time. Cremation and pickup are available 24/7, and you can call or text us at any hour.
How do I know if it is time?
Only you and your veterinarian can make that decision. Many families think about their pet's good days and hard days: whether they still enjoy food, greet you, and move without pain. If you would like to talk it through, call or text us. There is never any pressure to schedule.

Where is your facility?
We are located at 748 West Hatcher Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85021, in north Phoenix. Self surrender is welcome there by appointment.
